Art has the power to bring people together, and my community collaboration projects create meaningful creative experiences for underserved populations. These participatory art projects invite community members to drop in or sign up to contribute their unique vision to large-scale public artworks that celebrate their collective creativity.
An vibrant outdoor mosaic installation brightens the garden patio at a local Assisted Living facility. Over six weeks, 40 residents and volunteers from Tucson Medical Center for Seniors gathered weekly to create, glaze, and install colorful tiles. The project brought together artists ranging from their 60s to our most senior participant at 93 years old, each contributing their own piece to this blooming desert garden
.
Transforming a simple chain link fence into a canvas of community spirit, 28 senior women created 40 feet of vibrant painted banners for Mobile Meals of Tucson. Meeting over six weeks in Spring 2025, these artists turned weather-resistant drop cloths into beautiful outdoor art that welcomes visitors and celebrates the vital work happening inside.
Members of an Adult Day Program and their caregivers came together weekly for six weeks to hand-craft individual clay tiles, each one unique and personal. These small works of art were then assembled into a stunning mosaic mural that now graces the wall of their training site, serving as a lasting reminder of the creativity and connection that emerges when people create together.
Each project represents the beautiful intersection of art, community, and accessibility—proving that creativity knows no boundaries and that the most meaningful art happens when we make it together.
The collaborations range from small projects with other groups to city-wide collaborations to community centers that collaborate with me on all kinds of projects that have a wide array of different types of mediums.
